Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

There are a number of fellow professionals located at the Health Centre in St Gilberts Road.

They include:

  • Child and Family Psychiatrist
  • Speech Therapist
  • Social Services
  • School Nurse
  • Chiropodist

They can be contacted via the Community Clerk on 394185.


A physiotherapist is available at the surgery but patients must be referred by their doctor to this service.
