Lincolnshire went live with Electronic Prescription Service Phase 4 in March 2020.

Mostly all prescriptions are now signed, sent and processed electronically.

Electronic prescriptions are reliable, secure and confidential.

What about if I already have a nomination Pharmacy Set?

Millions of patients already have a nomination. Their nomination will remain valid and their prescriptions will still be sent electronically to their nominated dispenser.

I don’t have a nomination pharmacy set up?

Your prescription will also be sent electronically in Phase 4. The GP will need to print a token and this must be given to you, your representative or your prescription collection service. Tokens do not need a signature because the prescription is signed electronically.

The token contains a unique barcode and you would take it to a pharmacy or Dispensing Appliance Contractor (DAC) of your choice in England. The electronic prescription will remain on the NHS Spine until dispensing staff scan the token to retrieve it and begin the dispensing process

You will still order your repeat prescriptions in the same way as you do now, but your prescriptions will be sent electronically to the pharmacy or dispenser of your choice which is the case for the majority of our patients anyway.

You will not have to collect a paper repeat prescription from your GP practice.

We appreciate the majority of our patients will not encounter any changes as we as a practice are mostly using Electronic prescriptions presently. However we would just like to keep our patients updates as to any changes. Please do not hesitate to contact our Prescriptions team if you have any further questions.
