Suicide Crisis Text Service Available

If you are struggling with mental health difficulties or suicidal thoughts, then a special text service has been set up for those who can’t or don’t want to discuss issues over the telephone.

The Suicide Crisis Text Service is open for adults in Lincolnshire each Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm. It has been running since March by The Tomorrow Project and Shine Lincolnshire and offers one-to-one support by text message.

The Tomorrow Project said:

"This text service is truly unique to the area. For those who find talking on the phone too difficult, this is a lifeline. We can talk about anything you're going through or that's on your mind, we can send coping strategies or grounding techniques, or do safety planning exercises. We can also give practical support such as signposting or onwards referrals.

"We are clinical support workers and trained suicide crisis clinicians will be responding. Clients remain anonymous and the service is confidential. Clients can get in touch multiple times if they wish and, in an emergency we do have safeguarding procedures in place if we have immediate safety concerns about the client or someone else."

To use the service, which is open on Wednesdays from 5pm to 7pm please text 07800 140 818.
